Public notification of a resource consent application:
The proposal is to establish a large area of indigenous freshwater wetland habitat in exchange for protection lots. The applicant's vision is to establish an eco-village based in a wetland environment.
Utilising the protection lot subdivision rules provided for in the Western Bay of Plenty District Plan, allotments will be created on the basis of one allotment per hectare of wetland environment created. Each lot will accommodate a single dwelling and will have an area no smaller than 2,000m2.
