Concept plan for a new playground in Omokoroa

Consultation has concluded. We're going through the feedback. We anticipate construction to begin in April.

Have your say on the new concept plan for a proposed playground in Omokoroa.

Engagement ends on Friday, 23 February.

Background:

The Omokoroa Community Playground Group, in partnership with Council, has developed a concept design for a new playground at Omokoroa Sports Ground on Western Avenue.

We want to know what you think of the design.

It is intended that the new playground will complement the existing skate path and be a fun place for kids of all ages to play.

Key features include:

  • Flying fox cableway

  • Low terraced playing space on part of the existing slope

  • Swings

  • Slides and bridge

  • Rotating equipment

  • Junior treehouse

  • Maximising shade of established trees but further planting is planned.

Please note: construction may be staged to meet budget requirements.
