COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT ON THE KATIKATI SHARED PATH IS NOW CLOSED.
Help us take the final steps for Katikati's Yeoman Bridge to Park Road Reserve shared path.
The 1.2km shared path from Yeoman Bridge to Park Road Reserve promises to be a much-loved inclusion to the trail network around Katikati once completed in 2022.
We want to hear what you think of the final route, how often you think you'll use it, and whether your preference is for a standard white concrete path, or a tinted, less reflective option.
What's happening?
Our plans for the path include a concrete surface that’s mobility scooter, wheelchair, pram and bike friendly, as the existing grass walkway/cycleway through to Park Road Reserve tends to get soggy in winter. It’s also a much nicer surface for families whose youngest cyclists are still in training.
This new shared path will link Park Road Reserve to the recently completed Yeoman Bridge and existing Uretara Trail shared path, allowing cyclists and walkers to get a step further around the peninsula.
While the trail has been approved through the Katikati-Waihī Beach Reserve Management Plan (2018), it’s important that we get the wider community’s thoughts one last time prior to the construction phase, so we get the path right.
