Background:

83 Ford Road, Maketu, comprising 3 hectares, is a well used and connected site. It is a strategic access point to the river and ocean for boaties.

The site includes a boat ramp and jetty, Tukotahi Marae, and a car park area. Most recently, the site has been used as a base for the $16.5 million Kaituna River Re-Diversion project.

Currently underdeveloped and zoned rural, we are planning to develop a concept plan for the next 50 years that identifies future use and opportunities for the site. We are open to all ideas and discussions to ensure this site is developed with everyone's best interests in mind.

So please have your say so we are aware of the level of interest, who else is interested that Council isn’t aware of and what people would like to see built/developed.

Have your say:

  • Fill out the feedback form online (below).

Engagement ends at 4pm, Friday 18 September 2020.
